Los Pacaminos comes to Buxton

Los Pacaminos

If you’re longing for some Tex-Mex and Americana music, get your Stetson ready for the Los Pacaminos!

One the UK’s best loved vocalists Paul Young along with Drew Barfield, Mark Pinder, Steve Greetham, Jamie Moses and Melvin Duffy formed Los Pacaminos as an antidote to the bleak English Winter. Starting life as a practice band playing music they loved, word soon got around and it wasn’t long before the band where playing gigs.

Tex-Mex border music has elements of country/blues, and the Mariachi and Norteno styles of Mexico. Influenced by Ry Cooder, the Texas Tornados mixed in with a good dose of blues and rock ‘n’ roll and a hint of South American music makes Los Pacaminos one of the UK’s most popular touring bands.

The band members are some of the best known names in the industry. With friendships that have spanned over 30 years, playing alongside Paul Young through the 80’s and 90’s, it is these long term connections that bring a very special atmosphere to the Los Pacaminos show.

This evening is bound to be a Tex Mex, tequila fuelled party evening, as you are transported to South West America without leaving Buxton.

Los Pacaminos is at Pavilion Arts Centre on 23 September at 7.30pm. Tickets are £21, no discounts are available. To buy tickets contact Buxton Opera House Box Office, Tel: 01298 72190 or visit: www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
