MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL 2019!

At Dronfield Hall Barn
We're excited to be able to announce our plans for this year's upcoming Medieval Festival. It's amazing how time has flown - 2019 will be the third edition of this event, which in previous years has become one of the highlights of our year.
Returning favourites and new attractions make up this year's Medieval Festival, so scroll below to read what will be on across the weekend.
Admission to the festival is free, but we welcome donations - suggested amount £1.50 per adult. Fingers crossed for better weather than we had last year!
Hawks of Steele
Just one of our returning favourites from previous years, we're delighted that Hawks of Steele will once again be joining us. Their spectacular range of birds, which includes barn, tawny and eagle owls plus various different hawks and falcons, always makes for great photographic opportunities. Don't miss out on your chance to hold one of these birds!
Knights in Battle
The always entertaining Knights in Battle historical re-enactment group will also return. Their armoured and unarmoured combat displays are not to be missed, and new for this year includes a captain of archers to demonstrate the power of the deadly bow and arrow!
Make sure you also look out for a barber surgeon with display of equipment and treatments, as well as a lord and lady and their servants. A musical will be hand to provide medieval entertainment, and a functioning kitchen will be displaying preparation of food authentic to the period.

Pecsaetan - Morris Dancers
New for this year's festival, we're looking forward to welcome Pecsaetan to the Barn. This all-female Morris dancing group is sure to be a popular addition to the festival, and they will be performing during the Saturday at 1pm and 2pm.
- Medieval Bagpipes - performing at 11:30am on Saturday
- Dronfield Handbell Ringers - performing at 11am on Sunday
- Demonstrations from the likes of woodturner Robert Nicholson, Jim Newboult from Trinity Court Potteries, and Holda's Hearth across the weekend
Children's craft activities, face painting and raffles running throughout.
