Motion Vehicles Gear Up To Support For Safe and Sound

Vehicle leasing specialists Motion Vehicles have joined forces with specialist child exploitation charity Safe and Sound to support its work across Derbyshire.

Motion Vehicles, based in Hilton, has pledged support for the charity in a number of ways including donating vehicles at the end of their life through the national ‘Giveacar’ scheme; working with partners and members of the public locally who want to do the same; as well as donating to the charity in return for referrals to them for vehicle leasing agreements.

Vehicles donated will either be sold on through auctions or scrapped with proceeds going to Safe and Sound.

Funds raised will go to the charity’s Butterfly Appeal to expand services that protect and support young people across Derbyshire who are victims of or at risk of exploitation and their families.

Motion Vehicles director Marco Fappiano explained: “As a Derbyshire company providing vehicle leasing services to individuals and businesses in our local communities, we were keen to support Safe and Sound in whatever way we can.

“Child exploitation has a lasting impact on young people of all ages and circumstances and we are delighted to be able to use our expertise, contacts and knowledge in the motor industry to support Safe and Sound’s work.”

Safe and Sound chief executive Tracy Harrison added: “Since launching our Butterfly Appeal last summer, we have been overwhelmed by the positive response from the Derbyshire business community.

“Motion Vehicles’ offer of support – particularly through ‘Giveacar’ which is a growing phenomenon in the UK – is very welcome and we hope will add impetus to people’s desire to donate vehicles at the end of their life to a worthy cause.”
