National festival brings snapshot of country’s best photography to Derby’s The Eagle Market

One of the nation’s most popular photography festivals, FORMAT19, is coming to Derby’s The Eagle Market this month.

The unmissable exhibition will bring a celebration of all things photography to the city, from exhibitions and events to talks and performances, from Thursday 14 to Sunday 14 April.

Taking place at over 30 of Derby’s most beautiful buildings and key landmarks, including University of Derby, QUAD, Artcore Gallery, and Derby Market Hall, as well as The Eagle Market, photography aficionados can expect to see work from some of the country’s leading photographers.

The Eagle Market will host three exciting exhibitions as part of the festival, including ‘Saturday Girl,’ a five year project focusing on portraits of young women, ‘Path of an Honest Man,’  a visual study on non-verbal communication, and ‘Seed Series,’ an exploration into homosexuality and biological science.

Carly Salisbury, marketing manager at intu Derby, said : “We are thrilled to be hosting a series of photography exhibitions as part of FORMAT19 at The Eagle Market this year. One of the UK’s leading contemporary photography festivals, the celebration will offer visitors a truly unique and interesting opportunity to experience some of the country’s best pieces of work first hand.

“We know that the people of Derby are passionate about the arts, and are certain that these fascinating events will capture the interest of our visitors. We’re very much look forward to the exhibition, and hope the community will join us for the unmissable festival,” she added.
