New exhibition coming up at the Barn... 'Follow The Thread'

Sheffield based group Arts Through Textiles will be exhibiting their work at the Barn from Monday 11th September.

The exhibition, entitled 'Follow the Thread', will be a dynamic exhibition featuring an eclectic mix of style, technique and approach with the emphasis on textiles.

Formed in 1983, the group of artists are from Yorkshire and Derbyshire and have a strong professional interest in promoting and developing textiles as an art form. They are a creative group of individuals, intent upon the development of their own work and the passing on of skills and knowledge of textiles.

Members come from a variety of backgrounds. A common denominator is the love of all textile skills as a means of creative expression and a wish to show, through their work, just how rich, lively and versatile textiles can be.

The group exhibits regularly, locally and nationally. Members work on joint projects and many are members of other working and exhibiting groups. Many teach and lecture to groups around the country. Works will be on sale - payment by cash or cheque.
