New Website for Buxton Opera House
Have you seen Buxton Opera House’s new website? The new redesign, which went live at the beginning of the month is said to make finding out about events, easier than ever before.
Emma Oaks, Head of Marketing & Audiences at Buxton Opera House, who worked on the project with Birmingham based web developer, Supercool, said:
“We are delighted to unveil the new website. It’s been specially designed to make finding out about your favourite shows and booking tickets as easy as possible. Most importantly, the website is now mobile friendly, so you can book tickets quickly and easily when you’re on the move too.”
The website also features an online Calendar, which makes seeing new shows available each month really easy. If you want to know if there are any events of a certain genre such as music or comedy, you can just type that in the search box and a list of those shows will come up for you to browse.
“We’ve also introduced a FAQ section” says Emma. “If you’re a first time visitor you can find out all those little things that will make your trip a bit easier, like what time you should arrive and where to park.”
Under the Visit Us section you’ll find handy tips about visiting the theatre as a family or group and theatre access information. Whilst the Support Us section, Emma says, “tells you how you can get involved in supporting your local theatre - whether that’s through volunteering your time, becoming a corporate Sponsor, joining the Giant Cash Bonanza Lottery scheme or naming one of our seats.
“Just popping into one of our coffee mornings or taking a Back Stage Pass tour will help support the charity that runs Buxton Opera House and Pavilion Arts Centre.”
The theatre has aimed to make the website just as friendly and welcoming as visiting the theatre in person.
Visitors will also see at the bottom of the webpage there’s a few interesting ‘titbits’ under the About Us such as a timeline of key events in the theatre’s history. The photos in “Our Venues” section will enable customers to see close-ups of the theatre’s beautiful decorative features. You can also Meet the Team as part of a new feature of the website.
