New Year – New Skill

Derby College has published its programme of full-time and part-time courses that start in January 2016 – aimed at adult learners.

A wide range of courses will start in the New Year across the College campuses in Derby, Ilkeston and Morley ranging from Access to Higher Education and Teacher Training to Welding and Dog Grooming.

In addition, there are a number of one-day and short courses available on the Learning for Leisure programme ranging from cookery to pottery.

Derby College Chief Executive Mandie Stravino said: “Adult learners come to us for a wide range of reasons including retraining for a new career, needing to update skills to return to the workplace or to increase their chances of promotion at work.

“We have also re-introduced the Learning for Leisure programme to enable people to learn a new skill either for work or as a hobby.

“Our varied programme of full time and part time study programmes for adults are based at our conveniently-located sites across the city and in Erewash.

“We appreciate that adult learners have work and family commitments and we do everything we can to help them fit studies into their lifestyle with expert support and guidance from our learner support team and professional tutors who have wide experience in these specially-designed programmes.
