Popular Arts Trail returns to Derby’s Six Streets in June

Residents in and around the Six Streets area of Derby will open up their homes and gardens once again for the fifth biannual Six Streets Arts Trail on the weekend of Sat 22 – Sun 23 June.

With more participants than ever, 30 residents and community venues will host over 50 artists and makers displaying and selling their work.

Exhibitors will include painters, printers, textile artists, ceramicists, photographers and jewellery makers. There will also be impromptu performances from local buskers and bands, a choir, pop-up cafés and trees ‘yarn bombed’ with handmade knitted decorations.

The Trail is open from 10am – 5pm both days and a Guide listing artists and where to find them will be on sale throughout the event to ensure visitors make the most of the event.

The Six Streets area is to the north of Kedleston Road, Derby, and includes Bromley Street, Park Grove, Wheeldon Avenue, Statham Street, White Street and Parkfields Drive.

“The Arts Trail is a fantastic way for us to celebrate the creativity and real sense of community which has built up in the Six Streets area,” said Harriet Thompson, one of the local residents organising the event. “Our last  trail in 2017 attracted a great crowd and I think we delivered something for every taste at affordable prices.

“There’s also the area’s local period architecture – and for many of us, half the fun is looking around other people’s homes!”

Full details about the artists and locations will be available closer to the event at sixstreetsderby.org, on Facebook @SixStreets and Twitter @SixStreetsArts.
