Pride and Prejudice in Buxton

Pride and Prejudice in Buxton

Audiences are welcomed to once again take a step back in time with Chapterhouse Theatre Company, when they perform their production of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice at the Pavilion Arts Centre.

Meet Elizabeth Bennet, Austen's most loveable heroine during her quest to marry for love, at a time in history that focuses more on convenience and economic security. When Elizabeth meets the rude and abrupt Mr Darcy, she loathes him at first sight. But is there more to him than meets the eye? Brought to life by the award-winning writer Laura Turner, this brand-new adaptation marks the 200th Anniversary of Jane Austen’s death and promises to be the most splendid evening of the summer.

Join friends and family and lose yourself in the unforgettable love story written in 1813. Other drama to take place in Buxton includes Strictly Murder (10 –12 Aug) set against a backdrop of the rumblings of the first World War and Kiss of Death a dark thriller with a brilliant twist (17 –19 August). During November join a live brass band for a rousing production of Brassed Off, adapted from the 1996 film starring Pete Postlethwaite and Ewan McGregor.

Pride & Prejudice takes place on Wednesday 2 August at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £10 &  £14 and discounts are available.
