QUAD, Derby has Make & Take and Minecraft-themed online workshops for families and young people this February half-term

QUAD will be offering workshops online for families and young people during February half-term.

Online Make and Take is a virtual version of QUAD’s popular free creative workshops, usually held at the venue during half-terms and holidays. Suitable for families with children aged three and above, there will be two Zoom sessions, Make and Take Animals and Make and Take Faces & Figures led by local artist Helen Jackson. The sessions have been organised to use art, craft and recyclable materials that people already have at home. Families will need a PC, laptop or tablet with Zoom enabled, plus pens, pencils, a ruler, scissors, tape or glue, card (cereal boxes or other lightweight packaging) and coloured paper (old newspapers magazines or wrapping paper).

Make and Take Animals takes place on Monday 15th February and Make and Take Faces & Figures on Friday 19th February. Both sessions are free and take place between 10:30am and 11:30pm. Pre-booking is essential and places need to be secured by Wednesday 10th February, please supply an email address and telephone number when booking for the Zoom joining instructions.


QUAD has two Minecraft-themed workshops during February half-term, suitable for young people aged eight to fourteen. The workshops will be delivered online and are part of QUAD’s MinecraftLAB programme, focusing on objectives in a creative build. 

MinecraftLAB and the Temple of Doom celebrates the anniversary of Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun's discovery. Explore the ancient QUAD Kingdom of Doom and tackle the maze beneath the Pyramids! MinecraftLAB and the Temple of Doom takes place on Tuesday 16th February from 1:30pm to 4:00pm, the sessions take place online and are £5.00 per person. (NOW SOLD OUT)

MinecraftLAB Artists of the World is a chance to visit one of the most famous art museums, The Louvre. Let your creativity go wild and fill the galleries with Minecraft art and sculptures! MinecraftLAB Artists of the World takes place on Wednesday 17th February from 1:30pm to 4:00pm, the sessions take place online and are £5.00 per person.

Once you have booked your place, QUAD will contact you with detailed information on how to access the QUAD Minecraft server and a Minecraft login will be provided, if required, to enable you to access this session. If your child has their own Minecraft Account that they would like to access the session with, please enter this information when booking.
