Local business Ask the Chameleon has won a prestigious regional award in recognition of its success and will now represent the East Midlands in the national finals.

Ask the Chameleon, headed by director Rachel Hayward, was crowned micro business of the year at the East Midlands Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Awards 2019.

The FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards are designed to shine a light on the some of the best, most innovative and most determined small businesses and the category celebrated micro businesses (with less than ten employees) who ‘punched above their weight’.

The awards ceremony in Nottingham coincided with Ask the Chameleon’s fourth anniversary.

The company was set up by bid-writing specialist Rachel Hayward and works with regional businesses of all sizes from entrepreneurs to larger companies as well as charities and public sector organisations to develop bids, tenders, grant and award applications to support their growth.

Miss Hayward said today: “I can’t believe that we won this prestigious award and I hope that it will inspire other entrepreneurs and small business owners to showcase their achievements in the future.

“The awards ceremony was great fun and a wonderful celebration of the UK’s entrepreneurial spirit and the valued contribution that the 5.7 million small businesses bring to the wider economy.

“I look forward to joining the fellow East Midlands’ winners at the London awards ceremony on May 23 to shine a light on our great region.”

The FSB award followed Ask the Chameleon’s success in being chosen as one of last year’s Small Biz 100 which ran ahead of Small Business Saturday on December 1 and being part of the Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday #SBS online initiative.
