VITAL VALLEY: A CREATIVE FUTURE FOR THE DERWENT VALLEY MILLS WORLD HERITAGE SITE

Assistant Project Officer required for Vital Valley

3 Year Fixed Term Post (37 hours per week)

Grade 9: £24,091 to £25,846 per annum depending on experience.

The Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site is the only World Heritage Site in the East Midlands. This 15 mile stretch of the Derwent Valley, from Matlock Bath through to Derby, is the birthplace of the ‘modern’ factory system and the communities and infrastructure that were developed to support it. These technological interventions sit in the still recognisable and beautiful 18th century landscape into which they were inserted.

The Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England and Historic England have awarded the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site Partnership a £1.5m Great Place Scheme – Vital Valley. This post represents an exciting opportunity to play an integral part in the successful delivery of this 3 year scheme.

Vital Valley’s vision is to inspire and enable people to have a sense of pride in and belong to the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site and to do this by celebrating of the Valley’s heritage and through arts.

The closing date for applications is 22nd October 2017. It is hoped that interviews for this position will take place in the week beginning 6th November 2017.

The Job Description and Specifications, as well as details how to apply, can be found on Derbyshire County Council’s website:
