Easter Family Fun at the West Shed & Midland Railway-Butterley

Family activity
Family fun this Easter at the West Shed Museum!

- Make a 'junk model' train.
- Have a go at Easter themed craft activities.
- See our model railway in action.

Craft activities will be available at the West Shed every weekday from 5th to 19th April. Activities are mainly free but some may carry a charge for materials.

Elsewhere on-site:
- Trains will be running from Butterley Station.
- Have a go at the Easter treasure hunt with a prize available for correctly completed entries (treasure hunt forms need to be collected from and returned to Butterley Station).

The West Shed is located on the Swanwick Junction museum complex of the Midland Railway-Butterley. Normal access to the site is via a heritage train ride from Butterley Station (fare payable), alighting at Swanwick Station to walk up to the West Shed (approx. 430 metres walk including some uneven ground).

Access to Swanwick Junction is also possible via a walking route from Butterley Station. Please note: this is half a mile over uneven ground and unfortunately not suitable for visitors with limited mobility, wheelchairs or pushchairs.

The West Shed is open for general visitors every day, 11am-4pm, February to November.
