The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway operates heritage diesel and steam services between Duffield and Wirksworth.

As a private railway, the EVR not only provides a pleasant day's journey along the beautiful Ecclesbourne Valley, but its services connect with the Nottingham and Derby to Matlock service at Duffield. It offers galas, evening dining and special event trains and trains can be hired for private parties and special events.

The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway also trades as a testing facility for rail vehicles under the banner MyTestTrack.com. Vehicles tested include road/rail vehicles, specialist engineering vehicles, trollies and locomotives for London Underground.

Restored from dereliction, the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway is an example of a successful community-owned and operated social enterprise.
