Chesterfield Borough Council is joining forces with Destination Chesterfield again this year to bring you a great selection of events and activities to enjoy in our town.
The Christmas in Chesterfield Campaign, called Everything for the Perfect Christmas, will run from Monday 14 November to 4 January 2023 and has been designed to include something for everyone.
Councillor Kate Sarvent, cabinet member for town centres and visitor economy, said: “There is lots to get involved in around Chesterfield throughout the festive season.
Legacy continues at Croots Farm Shop as coppicing gets under way
Coppicing has recently got under way at Farnah House Farm – the home of popular Derbyshire farm shop Croots – as part of future sustainability plans.
Co-owner of Croots Farm Shop, Steve Croot helped to gain grant funding for the work before he sadly passed away last year.
His wife Kay, whose family own Farnah House Farm, on Wirksworth Road, Duffield, and who now runs Croots Farm Shop, said she was proud to be carrying on Steve’s legacy.

Lantern Sculpture Trail Shines A Light on City’s Dazzling Diversity
A trail of giant lantern sculptures has been installed at key cultural landmarks in Derby to shine a light on the city’s cultural diversity.
Local artist Frazer Johnston has been commissioned to create the lantern sculptures by Surtal Arts, the long-established Derby organisation rooted in traditional South Asian arts, as part of the Derby Season of Light festival of activities, events and performances which have been taking place between September and December.

New BSL Resources Highlight Dangers of Child Exploitation
The Royal School for the Deaf Derby has produced a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreted video in partnership with Derbyshire’s specialist child exploitation charity, Safe and Sound.
The video feature students from the school in Ashbourne Road who sign the question and answer scenarios that raise awareness amongst the deaf community of child exploitation.
