Funding Workshop with Foundation Derbyshire

Foundation Derbyshire is an independent charity, grant maker and philanthropy hub. Since 1996 they’ve been building an endowment fund to provide vital grant awards to voluntary and community groups across the County and City.

This online funding workshop organised by South Derbyshire CVS is 45 minute introduction to Foundation Derbyshire’s range of grant opportunities, arming you with everything you’ll need to apply successfully! This session is perfect for those new to bid writing, new to Foundation Derbyshire or those wanting a recap on how they work.

Peak Vision Arts’ November showcase at Chapel en le Frith

The November Peak Vision Arts showcase takes place in the spacious high street community venue No 89 Market Street, which offers visitors homemade treats in its café.

The weekend event, from Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th November at 10.30-16.00, offers an enjoyable experience with a wide range of original work, maybe a good opportunity to start the Christmas shopping in earnest!

Celebrating Five Years of Meddling!

Medley's, a group for local artists and markers, Autumn and Christmas craft shows 2021 will be held at Cromford Mills and Haddon Gatehouse. This years events will mark a five-year celebration of friendship and talent.

The public will be treated to the bringing together of an assortment of ceramics, silver clay, glass, wood, painting, felting, photography and sewing.

Join the virtual Matlock Storytelling Cafe, every first Friday of the month

A night of Storytelling for grown ups. The Matlock Storytelling Cafe event brings people together once a month on the first Friday to share stories and tellers from near and far.

In normal circumstances, the event takes place every first Friday at the Imperial Rooms in Matlock, but due to the pandemic, the storytelling cafe has moved online and so that you can zoom the session to your front room!

Derby Folk Festival returns with fringe benefits

The long-awaited and virtually sold out Derby Folk Festival returns as a live event in the heart of the city centre this weekend, from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd October.

Now in its 15th year, noted artists including O’Hooley and Tidow, Kitty Macfarlane, Ninebarrow, India Electric Co. and Home Service will be joined by some old friends and new faces.

Buxton International Festival is delighted to announce the final line-up for The Big BIF Weekend 15th-16th October 2021.

This year’s books programme features politician Peter Hain, crime writer Sarah Ward, author Azeem Azhar, lawyer Meriel Schindler and journalist Paul Mason. The music programme includes the return of popular pianist Martin Roscoe, BIF’s Chamber Ensemble: the Corran Quartet, the Harewood Artists from English National Opera and jazz sensations XPQ (Xenopoulos, Price Quintet).
