Writing for Wellbeing workshop with Leonie Martin, Saturday 7th March 10:30 - 12:30 at Chesterfield Library. Try Writing for Wellbeing at this taster workshop at Chesterfield Library. Using a series of fun and engaging prompts based on the five senses and the theme of Journeys, you’ll be encouraged to unlock your imagination and put pen to paper.  Working within a safe and respectful space, therapeutic writing can open the door to new voices, ideas and points of view that widen and deepen our own perspective, as well as offering a sense of achievement.

Dance4’s CAT is the Centre for Advanced Training which provides access to world-class training opportunities and spaces for young people aged between 11-18 years with exceptional potential in dance. The scheme is funded by the Department for Education and they welcome applications from anyone with a passion for dance. They have several opportunities available for young people and their teachers to find out more about the scheme and what it can offer:

Tideswell Community Players - performing for 90 years

We thought you'd like to know that on 25th and 26th February in 1930 Tideswell Community Players first trod the boards with the comedy drama and West End hit, Ambrose Applejohn's Adventure, by Walter Hackett.

Starring writer, radio dramatist and Great Hucklow theatre owner, L Du Garde Peach in the title role (centre rear in picture) and with many Tideswell people in the cast, it was a two night success at The Oddfellows Hall.

Celebrating with poetry for LGBT+ History Month

An evening of poetry to celebrate LGBT+ History Month will be held at Riverside Library, Derby city centre, from 6pm to 7.30pm on Thursday 27 February.

Steven Macnamara will discuss and perform the poetry of English poet and author Radclyffe Hall. She is best known for her novel The Well of Loneliness, considered a groundbreaking work in lesbian literature.

Joining Steven will be a range of local poets highlighting their work to celebrate LGBT+ History Month.  The event is free.

Funny Wonders activities 2020

Changing Faces project - creative workshops for 11-18yr olds in Buxton who are facing difficulties re-starting on Tuesday 25th February, 3.30pm-5pm at the Green Man Gallery. Participants and team members needed - leaflets attached for further information. #ChangingFaces

Buxton Flowerpot Trail 2020 - not quite a festival (yet!), but you may like to include it. Flowerpot making workshops in May. Flowerpots out for the summer (July and August). Trail maps will be available from the beginning of July. Details tbc. #BuxtonFlowerpotTrail
