Derby College Students Showcase Talents To Raise Charity Cash
Students on a range of vocational courses at Derby College have joined forces to raise nearly £400 for Derby Kids Camp, which provides holidays and activities for local children.
Business, Hair, Media and Make Up and Catering and Hospitality students at the Roundhouse collaborated to organise a fashion show at the Engine Shed restaurant.
The evening was organised by the Business Studies team as part of their course. It included a pre-fashion show buffet prepared and served by the Catering and Hospital students, a raffle and then the main event which showcased fashion, make-up and hair trends from the 1900s onwards – into the future.
Styles ranged from the roaring twenties through to the futuristic styles that may be adopted over the coming decades.
Business Studies Lecturer Andrea Hickman said: “The evening was a huge success and raised a good amount of money for a very worthwhile cause.”
