Make an appointment with the great outdoors with Yompers’ Walk-a-Month Calendar 2018
With stunning photography of the Peak district and 12 corresponding walks, this is the calendar to get people organised… and out and about.
Derbyshire, UK – 24.10.17 Yompers presents the unique Walk-a-Month Calendar 2018 (Derbyshire & the Peak District) ¬– the calendar that makes it easy for people to get outside and enjoy the local countryside.
With an emphasis on encouraging family days out exploring the Peak District landscape, wildlife and history, the calendar features 12 tear-out route-cards – to accompany each month’s photograph.
The route-cards detail carefully chosen short walks (3-6 miles) – with postcodes to get there, step-by-step walk directions, maps, features on each walk, nearby places to visit and recommended post-walk pubs and cafés. No more time spent trawling the web to find the perfect walk and pub/café combination. A day out a month – on a plate.
“It’s too easy to take for granted what is on our doorstep.” said Nick Mortimer, Yompers’ founder and MD, “Here in the Peak District, we have more natural beauty, diverse terrains and awesome vistas than you can shake a walking pole at, and, no matter how long you’ve lived here, there are always areas to explore or rediscover. There is also a real concern that some children and young people are not active enough outside school hours. And this is nature’s playground! So although everyone can enjoy the walks, we particularly hope that this calendar will make it easy for families to put aside one day a month to invest in some time together, get a bit of exercise and enjoy this amazing place ¬– and, of course enjoy a post-walk drink in one of its many traditional or contemporary pubs or cafés.”
The walks have been chosen to cover a variety of places in or bordering Derbyshire. Some walks are all about nature, others are an excuse for everyone to behave like kids and spend the day scrambling around rocks, while other walks are included for their breath-taking views. Walks include yomps in and around Hathersage, Hope Valley, Baslow, Monyash, The Roaches and beyond.
The stunning and beautifully atmospheric photography by Michael Cummins (www.michaelcummins.co.uk), an award-winning photographer and official image supplier to VisitBritain, complete a calendar that encapsulates Derbyshire and the Peak District.
With summaries of the walks, a large appointments area and wallplanner, printed on high quality artboard and papers, the calendar retails at £15.99 and will be available at selected independent retailers across Derbyshire and surrounding areas or direct from www.yompers.co.uk.
This is the first product from Yompers, whose mission is to get adults and children alike (re)connecting with the countryside, wildlife, local history and the outdoor life. For more information or to buy the Walk-a-Month Calendar, visit www.yompers.co.uk or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
