Skills Development Workshops - Creating a sustainable future

At the University of Derby, we realise the business community plays a crucial part in ensuring the future of our planet. We have been helping companies become cleaner and greener for years and we know that growing your business whilst being kind to the planet isn’t always easy.

Becoming greener not only helps improve the environment, but it also enables the development of resilience needed to tackle the global challenges we are now faced with.

The University of Derby is offering fully-funded short courses as part of the Branch Out in STEM programme to help you refresh and update digital, analytical and problem-solving skills with an aim of boosting wider STEM knowledge for participants at no cost.

Creating a sustainable future

By becoming carbon literate, individuals and organisations can take action to reduce their carbon footprint, contribute the global effort to mitigate climate change, and create a more sustainable future.

In this workshop on Thursday 29 June, we will explore the intersection of carbon literacy and data science, and how data science can be used to better understand, analyse, and mitigate the impact of climate change. These techniques can provide insights into the causes and effects of climate change, help identify areas where emissions can be reduced, and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation strategies.

This short workshop will help you begin to learn these skills with an aim of boosting wider STEM knowledge for participants and workplace skills.
