Storytelling Project - Call Out for Young People (12+)

“If trees could talk…” new and unique fairytales created by the LGBT+ community.

People Express and Derbyshire LGBT+  have commissioned story teller Thom Seddon to works with young and older LGBT+ communities to create brand new fairy tales inspired by nature, woodlands and forests. Thom, based in Nottingham, has worked across the UK as a performer, drag queen and spoken word performer.

In South Derbyshire we are looking for up to 10 young people from the local LGBT+ community (aged 12 to 21) who would like to take part in writing workshops with Thom to create the fairytales, and if you want to,  you can help him perform them at Timber Festival 2019 on Saturday 6th July.

No previous experience is needed, and it will be lots of fun!

The first workshop is on Tuesday 4th June from 4pm to 6pm at People Express, West Street, Swadlincote DE11 9DG. Dates for future sessions will be agreed on the 4th. The workshop is free and if you take part you get a free pass to the Timber festival!

Supported by Derbyshire LGBT+, The National Forest Company, Derbyshire County Council and Timber Festival.

If you would like to take part please text Kalila on 07739 088066, Facebook@ peopleexpress communityarts or ring us on 01283 552962.
