Hundreds Attend Ilkeston Jobs Fair

Nearly 700 people attended a jobs fair at Ilkeston Community College organised by Derby College Group (DCG) and Job Centre Plus on Tuesday (October 29).

The event was officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Erewash Cllr Donna Briggs (pictured, left, with DCG Chief Executive Mandie Stravino).

Employers in attendance with information about jobs opportunities including East Midlands Airport, Derbyshire Police, Trentbarton and Nottingham Community Housing Association.

To celebrate a major new partnership between FORMAT and Lishui International Photography Festival in China, Director of FORMAT, Louise Fedotov-Clements, has curated Sleight of Hand, an exhibition presenting work by six artists – Brian Griffin; Regine Petersen; John Angerson; Yvette Monahan and Jan Stradtmann, plus Max Pinckers (curated by Tim Clark), at Lishui Art Museum.

Derbyshire Records Office Launch Exhibitions On Google Arts & Culture

The Derbyshire Record Office is thrilled to have just launched on Google Arts and Culture: https://artsandculture.google.com/partner/derbyshire-record-office

There are three online exhibitions and 175 images online so far and online visitors are encouraged to go and take a look at the collections there. Google Arts and Culture has amazing works of art from major art galleries and museums across the world – plus other cultural organisations like ballet companies and theatre groups.  

Ringing the changes at Buxton Fringe

Buxton Festival Fringe will be bidding a fond goodbye to its outgoing chair Keith Savage and appointing a new chair at its open-to-all AGM on Thursday November 21.

The event which takes place at The Green Man Gallery on Hardwick Square South, Buxton at 7 for 7.30pm is also likely to see new appointments for the roles of Treasurer and Secretary though long-standing committee member Maria Carnegie looks set to continue as Vice-chair.
