Tickets Available For Two Great Music Events...

New Mills Festival and Spring Bank Arts Centre are very pleased to announce that The Askew Sisters, the acclaimed English Folk Duo making waves on the folk scene with their energetic brand of English folk music, will be performing at Spring Bank Arts Centre on Friday 12th April 2019. The gig will be the first in a series of collaborations between New Mills Festival and Spring Bank Arts Centre.

Roll up for the BIF Roadshow’s magical mystery tour

Stars more used to singing in the world’s leading opera houses will soon be performing in a village hall near you as Buxton International Festival (BIF) takes a taste of its 40th anniversary programme on the road.

BIF is bringing the glitz and glamour of opera right to your doorstep in a rolling roadshow which will stop at venues in the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales with a grand finale in Buxton’s newly-restored Octagon.

“It’s a magical tour aimed at taking the mystery out of opera,” said Festival Chief Executive Michael Williams.

FORMAT19: Open Call Award winners announced

FORMAT19 is delighted to announce the winners of the Open Call Awards.

It has been a difficult job to choose just one project as this year's entries to the festival Open Call have been of such a very high calibre but the decisions have finally been made and taking the top prize in the FORMAT19 Award is Casey Orr's portrait series Saturday Girl.

Portfolio Review Awards

Cash prizes, editorial commissions and a 20 print portfolio are just some of the amazing awards that will be presented to the winners of the FORMAT19 Portfolio Review Awards.

The prizes will be presented during the FORMAT19 Grand Award Night on Saturday 16th March at 7.30pm.

Fringe40 Buxton Art Trail Could Be Biggest Yet!

Applications are now open for this year’s Buxton Art Trail which will return during the first weekend of the Buxton Festival Fringe on Saturday July 6 and Sunday July 7.

Organisers are hoping for an extra special event for this year’s 40th Fringe with plenty of applications from artists and venues before the closing date of April 22nd, 2019. An even wider variety of artists, designers and makers, both professional and amateur, look set to exhibit in their homes and studios as well as other venues in the town.

SERGEI PODOBEDOV – THE PIANO LIVE !

Russian born classical pianist SERGEI PODOBEDOV plays his second concert in Belper.
Following a sell out concert in September, Belper based Sergei Podobedov plays his second show in
his adopted home town at the Strutt Centre, Derby Road, Belper on 23 February.
The musical programme features
Beethoven's 'Apassionata', Chopin Sonatas and Liszt Sonata Number 6.
