Sinfonia Viva announce Concerts for March 2015

Sinfonia Viva is a virtuoso ensemble delivering original and extraordinary creative musical experiences. Founded in 1982, Sinfonia Viva has a national reputation as a leader in creative music activity in the UK. They are proud to announce two concerts in March 2015.

Poem a Month for January

Poem a Month is off to a great start with this poem submitted to the Literature Team at Derbyshire County Council by David Duncombe inspired by a common sight - walkers in the Derbyshire countryside.

Here is David's introduction to the poem: 'Walking in the Peak District on an autumn day I saw a couple, the woman leading, stepping neatly and he following, splashing in the mud. I let my imagination go with them on a circular walk.'

Derby Cathedral announce 2015 exhibition programme

Derby Cathedral have announced their exhibition programme for the year in the Sir Richard Morris Lounge at Derby Cathedral Centre.  

The programme starts with Derby's Jacobean House in 1852, which is on loan from Derby Museums and with whom the Cathedral enjoy a close relationship.

The Jacobean Exhibition will continue until Friday 30th January 2015, 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, Closed Sundays, Bank Holidays.

Nominations for Derby & Derbyshire Inspirational Women Awards, 2015, are now open. The Awards were founded by Vox Feminarum:Women's Voices (VoxFemme for short) to recognise, celebrate and thank the 'ordinary' women of every age and from every walk of life, who are doing and achieving, extraordinary things. These often unsung HERoes, regularly go unnoticed and unrecognised and we just want to extend a big thank you, for all they have done, and continue to do.
