Here We Stay at Eyam Parish Church marks the 350th anniversary of the Eyam Plague

Described by The Observer as 'Britain's greatest living dramatic poet', visionary writer David Rudkin gives the Plague a central voice as narrator in a dramatic new telling of events at Eyam 350 years ago.

New Perspectives is staging a reading of this haunting new play at Eyam Parish Church, featuring live music.

The reading will be a world premiere of Here We Stay, on Saturday 18 July at 7.30pm.

Buxton Festival Brings Great Stories From Fascinating Personalities

The nationally renowned Buxton Festival featuring opera, music and books will take place from 10 to 26 July. This year’s progamme features over 40 fascinating talks from best selling and award-winning authors, personalities, historical, artistic, poilitical and musical experts.

Speakers including Antonia Fraser, Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, William Waldegrave, Miriam Margolyes and Bill Oddie will appear at this year’s festival alongside best selling authors including Helen Macdonald, Louis De Bernieres, Penny Junor and Henry Marsh.

Time To Get Writing for Buxton Poetry Competition

Buxton Festival’s acclaimed  poetry competition is open for entries and has announced its theme for 2015 as ‘Time’. The competition is now in its 8th year, each year around 600 poets enter the competition from across the country and even further afield with entries coming in the past from the USA, New Zealand and Slovenia.
