Panto is back at New Mills Art Theatre

Oh no it isn’t, Oh Yes It Is! – The Friends of New Mills Art Theatre are so pleased to be able to announce their next pantomime is Cinderella – probably the best panto story of all time.

After the production was sadly postponed last year, they have chosen the classic Cinderella story, script by Alan P Frayn, that is packed with all the wonderful panto characters, jokes and slapstick business, putting pantomime back where it belongs – in its home, on the Art Theatre stage in January and February 2022.

LEVEL Residency Lab

We’re excited to share a great new opportunity with you in the form of our next round of 2021 Artist Residencies, based at the LEVEL Centre in the gorgeous Peak District.

We are looking to support UK based, professional artists and companies from a variety of disciplines (visual, performing & digital). We’re wanting proposals for projects which research and develop ideas by and suitable for learning disabled adults.

Online Training Employer Academy Gives Students A Head Start

A wide range of Construction skills students at Derby College Group (DCG) in Derby and Ilkeston have gained industry-accredited training to boost their chances of securing a job in the industry, thanks to a partnership initiative with Howarth Timber and Building Supplies.

The company, which has been established since 1840 and is the UK’s largest privately-owned timber company with 33 branches across the UK, joined forces with DCG last year to set up an online training Employer Academy.

Charity Support Is Close To Business Owner’s Heart

A Long Eaton business has pledged support for The Brain Tumour Charity which is the world’s largest charity dedicated to funding global research into the disease.

More Than Loft Ladders in Meadow Lane is donating £1 for every job it completes this year and is on target to raise £1,200 by the end of 2021.

The charity is close to the business owner Liam Hobbs’ heart as his wife Kelly (41) was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2015.

Long Eaton Box Office Cultural Hub - Soft market test for Operator

Erewash Borough Council is undertaking a soft market testing exercise to seek the views of external operators for Cultural Hub services. The Council wishes to gain insight into the operating models available in the market place to assist with the development of a detailed specification and to help consider the most appropriate procurement process.

The soft market test will take place from Thursday 15th July until Friday 13th August 2021.

Visiting the Barn from Monday 19th July

There has been lots in the media about the changes in regulations from Monday 19th July, but we are conscious that Covid hasn’t gone away, and some of our visitors and customers may be feeling nervous about any possible changes to procedures. So, we’d like to reassure you that we are continuing with many of the measures we have had in place for some time:

• Table service will be continuing in the coffee shop. This helps to restrict movement around the building.
