Royal Approval For Innovative Derby Company

Water conservation and washroom services specialists HSG has been formally presented with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation by HM Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire Mr William Tucker.

The Lord-Lieutenant and Mrs Tucker joined civic dignitaries including The High Sheriff of Derbyshire Mrs Lucy Palmer, the Mayor of Derby Cllr Mike Carr and the Chairman of Derbyshire County Council Cllr George Wharmby for the presentation at HSG’s offices in Derby’s Pride Park.

HUUB Backs World-Beating Cycle Team

Leading triathlon kit designers HUUB have announced backing for an innovative Derby-based track cycling team which are currently among the fastest in the world.

Team HUUB is a group of cycling enthusiasts who share a passion for the engineering and science behind elite performance sport.

They started 18 months ago by pooling their money and continued their jobs or university studies to compete at national and international competitions where they were soon taking on the world’s top team and individual pursuit riders.

Local Invention Takes Root

A father and daughter from Derbyshire have invented a novel alternative to the growing worldwide phenomenon to hang a love lock padlock on bridges and railings.

Retired engineer Ken Massingham (68) from Church Broughton and his daughter Caroline (41) who is a graphic designer from Littleover have spent the past year and £20,000 of their own money designing the ‘Love Lock Tree’.

The 5m high structure is inspired by the shape of an evergreen tree which symbolises the wonder of life.

By popular demand, The Derby Conference Centre is once again offering weddings as part of their event services. In order to keep pace with this demand, the Centre has announced the arrival of a new Wedding & Events Coordinator, Jessica Wood.

Jessica will be heavily involved in generating enquiries and planning weddings at The Derby Conference Centre, meeting with prospective couples to ensure their service meets and exceeds their expectations. Jessica expressed:
